[Ch 9.4] When the Harvesters Leave the Field

by Explaining Faith

Parts 1-3 examined Shincheonji’s two seeds doctrine through logical analysis, biblical interpretation, and theological framework. We’ve seen how they claim to be the “wheat” being harvested from Christianity (the “tares”), how they use this doctrine to justify their existence as the exclusive location of salvation, and how they identify their 144,000 members as the sealed firstfruits chosen by God for a special role in Revelation’s fulfillment.

But every theological system must face the test of reality. And for Shincheonji’s two seeds doctrine, that test comes in the form of a question they cannot answer:

What happens when the wheat leaves the barn?

According to their teaching, this should be impossible. The wheat cannot transform into tares. Shincheonji teaches that leaving the organization means losing salvation and “betraying” God—implying that true believers would never depart. Those who have been harvested from false Christianity and brought into the “true church” should recognize the truth so clearly that departure is unthinkable. Those who reach the highest levels of leadership—tribe leaders who are part of the 144,000, instructors who have mastered every detail of the doctrine, evangelists who have successfully harvested hundreds of others—should be the most convinced, the most committed, the most certain.

If Shincheonji’s interpretation of the parable is correct, deeper knowledge should produce stronger conviction. Proximity to Lee Man-hee should increase faith. Higher levels of leadership should reveal greater truth. The closer you get to the center, the more clearly you should see that this is God’s work.

But the opposite occurs.

High-ranking leaders leave. Tribe leaders depart. The chairwoman who worked alongside Lee Man-hee testifies in court about financial exploitation. Senior instructors who taught the doctrine to thousands recognize they were manipulating people, not harvesting them. Those who were identified as “wheat,” as “firstfruits,” as “witnesses to Revelation’s fulfillment” speak out against the organization—not because they misunderstood the doctrine, but because they understood it too well.

This part examines their testimonies. These are not ordinary members who “didn’t fully grasp the teaching.” These are the people Shincheonji itself identified as the purest examples of harvested wheat. They mastered the doctrine. They witnessed the organization’s inner workings at the highest levels. They knew Lee Man-hee personally. They had everything to lose by leaving—position, relationships, identity, years of investment.

And they left anyway.

Their testimonies reveal a devastating pattern: the closer you get to the organization’s leadership, the more problems you discover. This is not what should happen if Shincheonji’s claims were true. It is, however, exactly what you would expect if the organization’s foundation is built on deception rather than divine revelation.

When one person leaves and speaks out, it could be dismissed as an individual failure. When dozens leave, it suggests systemic problems. But when high-ranking leaders—tribe leaders, instructors, chairwomen, and those who worked directly with the founder—consistently leave and speak out, it reveals the organization’s true nature.

These testimonies carry extraordinary weight because:

  • These people had everything to lose by leaving
  • They knew the doctrine thoroughly and taught it to thousands
  • They witnessed the inner workings at the highest levels
  • They saw Lee Man-hee’s true character up close
  • They were identified by Shincheonji as part of the 144,000 “wheat”
  • They recognized the gap between claims and reality

Their consistent message is clear: Shincheonji is not the fulfillment of Revelation, Lee Man-hee is not the promised pastor, and the organization uses fear and control to maintain power over members.

But perhaps most importantly, their testimonies expose a fundamental flaw in Shincheonji’s two seeds doctrine: if those identified as “wheat” consistently leave and speak against the organization, and if leaving means “betraying God” and losing salvation, then either the doctrine is false, or Shincheonji’s ability to identify wheat from tares is fundamentally broken. Either way, their central claim collapses.

This is the testimony of the harvesters who left the field. Listen carefully to what they have to say.

This article is a starting point, not the final word. We encourage you to cross-examine these perspectives with your own biblical research. Think critically and independently as you evaluate these claims. Scripture invites us to “test everything; hold fast what is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21). Errors can occur in any human work, so verify with multiple trusted sources. Your personal journey with Scripture matters—let this be a catalyst for deeper study, not a substitute for it. The most powerful faith comes through thoughtful examination and personal conviction.

PART 4: When the Harvesters Leave the Field—Leadership Testimonies

When ordinary members leave Shincheonji, the organization dismisses them as people who “didn’t fully understand the doctrine” or “had weak faith.” But when high-ranking leaders—tribe leaders, instructors, evangelists, and those who worked directly with Lee Man-hee—leave and speak out, their testimonies carry extraordinary weight.

These individuals:

  • Mastered the doctrine and taught it to thousands
  • Witnessed the organization’s inner workings at the highest levels
  • Had everything to lose by leaving (position, relationships, years of investment)
  • Knew Lee Man-hee personally and observed his character up close
  • Were identified by Shincheonji as part of the 144,000 “wheat” being harvested

Their testimonies reveal a consistent pattern: the closer you get to the organization’s leadership, the more problems you discover. This is the opposite of what should happen if Shincheonji’s claims were true. Deeper knowledge should produce stronger conviction. Proximity to Lee Man-hee should increase faith. Higher levels of leadership should reveal greater truth.

Instead, the opposite occurs. And their testimonies explain why.

[English sub] Testimony of pastor Kwon Nam-gye, former Shincheonji head instructor

Her Position and Influence

Kim Nam-hee served as the Chairwoman of IWPG (International Women’s Peace Group), one of Shincheonji’s major affiliated organizations. She was one of the highest-ranking women in the entire movement and worked directly alongside Lee Man-hee for many years.

As someone considered part of the “people of Revelation” who allegedly witnessed the fulfillment of biblical prophecy, she was at the absolute center of Shincheonji’s leadership structure. 6

What She Witnessed and Why She Left

  1. Financial Exploitation and Abuse:
Kim testified that Lee Man-hee’s public persona as a humble spiritual leader contrasted sharply with his private behavior:

“In reality, he [Lee Man-hee] demanded money from leaders and punished them if they didn’t deliver. Kim witnessed these abuses but felt trapped. She believed leaving would mean eternal damnation.” 6

This reveals a pattern where financial pressure was placed on leaders, who then had to extract money from their congregations. The “punishment” for not meeting financial demands shows the organization operates more like a business than a spiritual community. 6

  1. Psychological Control Through Fear:

Kim described how the doctrine of “betrayal” kept her compliant even when she witnessed problems:

  • She believed leaving would result in losing her salvation
  • This fear paralyzed her ability to act on what she observed
  • The psychological control was so strong that even witnessing abuse wasn’t enough to break free initially 6
  1. Court Testimony Despite Personal Cost:

After leaving in 2017, Kim Nam-hee testified in court about Shincheonji’s practices, despite:

  • Intense pressure from the organization
  • Potential retaliation from members
  • The personal cost of going public
  • Previous court losses that could have discouraged her 7

Her willingness to testify publicly demonstrates her conviction that exposing the truth about Shincheonji is more important than personal safety or comfort. 7

The Significance of Her Departure

Kim Nam-hee wasn’t just any member—she was:

  • A woman of high status in an organization where women rarely reach top leadership
  • Close to Lee Man-hee and privy to his private behavior
  • Fully educated in the doctrine and considered a witness to Revelation’s fulfillment
  • Invested for years with everything to lose by leaving

The Critical Question: If Shincheonji’s teaching is true and Lee Man-hee is the promised pastor of Revelation, why would someone who witnessed the “fulfillment” firsthand choose to leave and publicly oppose the organization? Her departure suggests that proximity to the truth claims reveals their falsehood. 6 8

Former Senior Leader and Seoul Church Overseer

His Position and Role

Mr. Shin, also known as “Snake Shin” within Shincheonji, was one of the most senior leaders in the organization. His roles included:

  • Education instructor – teaching the doctrine to new students
  • Center instructor – overseeing an entire teaching center
  • Seoul Church overseer – managing one of the largest and most important Shincheonji churches
  • Second in command – allegedly positioned as Lee Man-hee’s right-hand man

His position was so significant that Shincheonji’s doctrine allegedly placed him in the fulfillment of Revelation’s prophecies. Some members believed he represented one of the “two witnesses” or held another prophetic role.

What He Revealed About the Organization

  1. The Inner Workings of Leadership:

As someone who oversaw the Seoul Church and served as a high-level instructor, Mr. Shin had access to:

  • Financial records and how money was collected and used
  • Decision-making processes at the highest levels
  • Lee Man-hee’s private character and leadership style
  • Doctrinal inconsistencies that weren’t taught to ordinary members

  1. The “Snake Shin” Label: Scapegoating and Control:

After Mr. Shin left or fell out of favor, Shincheonji began referring to him as “Snake Shin”—associating him with Satan and betrayal. However, ex-members note the irony:

“I think the proper name for Brother Shin should be scapegoat Shin instead of snake Shin. Through that, we can know the humanity of Mr. [Lee Man-hee].”

This reveals a pattern: when high-level leaders leave or question the organization, they are immediately demonized to prevent current members from listening to their testimonies. The label “snake” serves to:

  • Discredit anything he might say about the organization
  • Prevent members from sympathizing with him or asking why he left
  • Reinforce the “betrayal” narrative that keeps other members in line
  • Deflect attention from legitimate concerns he might raise

  1. His Role in Revelation’s “Fulfillment”:

The fact that someone allegedly positioned in Revelation’s fulfillment narrative left the organization creates a massive theological problem for Shincheonji:

“Mr. Shin (also referred to as snake Shin in SCJ) was supposedly second in charge to LMH. The recent YouTube video states that he is in the book of Revelation…”

The Logical Problem: If Revelation’s fulfillment is literal and Mr. Shin was part of that fulfillment, how can he leave? Shincheonji teaches that:

  • The events of Revelation have been fulfilled exactly as written
  • The people involved are specifically chosen by God
  • Leaving the organization means receiving Satan’s spirit and betraying God

But if Mr. Shin was chosen by God to fulfill Revelation, his departure means either:

  • God’s chosen person can fall away (contradicting their doctrine of certainty)
  • He was never actually part of the fulfillment (meaning their interpretation was wrong)
  • The entire fulfillment narrative is fabricated

Any of these options undermines Shincheonji’s core claims.

The Interview: Former Leaders Speak Out

Mr. Shin participated in a detailed interview with the “Cultish” podcast, where he and other former leaders discussed their experiences. This interview, conducted in collaboration with Great Light Studios, provides rare insight into leadership perspectives.

Key Points from the Interview:

  1. The Promotion Structure and Control:

“I studied as an education instructor, center instructor. He was in charge of Seoul Church in Shincheonji. Then he promoted to the whole…”

This reveals the hierarchical structure where leaders are promoted based on:

  • Their ability to recruit and retain members
  • Their loyalty to Lee Man-hee
  • Their effectiveness in teaching the doctrine
  • Their willingness to enforce organizational demands

  1. The Humanity of Leadership:

The interview reveals that even at the highest levels, leaders struggled with doubt, witnessed problems, and eventually had to make the difficult choice to leave despite the personal cost.

His Position: One of the Twelve

Lee Jae-won served as a tribe leader in Shincheonji—one of only twelve positions corresponding to the twelve tribes of Israel in Revelation. This is one of the highest leadership positions in the organization, directly under Lee Man-hee himself. Tribe leaders:

  • Oversee thousands of members
  • Make major organizational decisions
  • Are considered part of the fulfillment of Revelation 7 (the 144,000)
  • Have direct access to Lee Man-hee
  • Represent their tribe in all official functions

His Prediction About Shincheonji’s Future

In his testimony after leaving, Lee Jae-won made a striking prediction:

“If Lee Man-hee dies, I think about 90% of the people will give up Shincheonji, and those who are tribal leaders or church leaders will go their own way.”

What This Reveals:

  1. The Organization Is Built on Personality Cult, Not Truth:

If Shincheonji’s teaching were truly from God and based on Scripture, it would survive the death of its messenger. The fact that a former tribe leader predicts 90% will leave when Lee Man-hee dies reveals that:

  • Members follow Lee Man-hee, not biblical truth
  • The organization’s foundation is one man’s authority, not God’s word
  • Even leaders recognize the movement is unsustainable without its founder

  1. Leaders Plan to “Go Their Own Way”:

Lee Jae-won’s statement that tribe and church leaders will “go their own way” suggests:

  • Leaders are already thinking about post-Lee Man-hee scenarios
  • Some may be planning to start their own splinter groups
  • The unity of the organization is artificial, held together by Lee Man-hee’s authority
  • Leaders may be more interested in maintaining their own power and following than in preserving the doctrine
  1. Leadership’s Awareness of Problems:

For a tribe leader to make this prediction means he observed:

  • The lack of genuine spiritual foundation in the organization
  • The dependence on Lee Man-hee’s personality rather than biblical truth
  • The self-interest of other leaders who are positioning themselves for the future
  • The fragility of an organization built on one man’s claims

A Pattern of Departure

The List of Former Tribe Leaders

According to documented testimonies, multiple tribe leaders have left Shincheonji over the years:

  • Lee Kyung Hwi – Former tribe leader
  • Jeong Hae Dong – Former tribe leader
  • Yang Gap Yong – Former tribe leader
  • Park Young Joon – Former tribe leader
  • Lee Seung Joo – Noted as current tribe leader who was previously in a different position, suggesting leadership instability

The Significance of Multiple Departures

  1. This Isn’t an Isolated Incident:

When one tribe leader leaves, it could be dismissed as an individual failure. But when multiple tribe leaders—people who reached the highest levels of the organization—leave, it reveals a systemic problem.

  1. These Were the “144,000”:

Shincheonji teaches that the tribe leaders and their members are the literal fulfillment of Revelation 7’s 144,000 sealed servants of God. According to their doctrine:

  • These people are specifically chosen and sealed by God
  • They cannot fall away because they have God’s seal
  • They are the first fruits who will reign with Christ

The Theological Crisis: If tribe leaders—who are supposedly sealed by God and part of the 144,000—can leave, then either:

  • The sealing wasn’t real (contradicting their doctrine)
  • They were never actually part of the 144,000 (meaning the fulfillment narrative is wrong)
  • People who are sealed can still fall away (contradicting their teaching about certainty of salvation)

Any of these options destroys Shincheonji’s doctrinal foundation.

  1. The Pattern Reveals the Problem:

When multiple people in the same high-level position leave, it suggests they all witnessed similar problems:

  • Doctrinal inconsistencies at leadership levels
  • Financial or ethical abuses
  • Lee Man-hee’s true character
  • The gap between public teaching and private reality

The Experience of Mid-Level Leaders

The Role of Group Leaders

While not as high-ranking as tribe leaders, young adult group leaders play a crucial role in Shincheonji:

  • They directly shepherd and monitor younger members
  • They enforce attendance and participation requirements
  • They report on members’ spiritual state and loyalty
  • They serve as the primary point of contact for new members

Why This Leader Left

A testimony from a former young adult group leader who left in June 2025 reveals the experience of mid-level leadership:

  1. The Burden of Maintaining Control:

Group leaders are responsible for:

  • Ensuring members attend all meetings and events
  • Monitoring members’ outside relationships and activities
  • Reporting any signs of doubt or questioning
  • Pressuring members to recruit new students
  1. The Cognitive Dissonance:

As a leader, this person had to:

  • Teach doctrines they were beginning to question
  • Enforce rules they recognized as controlling
  • Maintain enthusiasm while experiencing personal doubt
  • Present a facade of certainty while struggling internally
  1. The Decision to Leave:

The testimony describes leaving “yesterday” (June 30, 2025), suggesting:

  • The decision was recent and difficult
  • They felt compelled to share their experience immediately
  • They wanted to help others who might be in similar situations
  • The relief and urgency of finally breaking free

Mr. Park: Affiliated Organization Leader and Allegations of Abuse

His Position and the Allegations

Mr. Park served as a leader in one of Shincheonji’s affiliated organizations. Ex-members have made serious allegations:

“Mr Park (affiliated org leader): Ex-members allege repeated rapes of vulnerable young women. No conviction noted. Sources: MBC; JTBC; Closer Look Initiative.”

The Significance of These Allegations

  1. The Vulnerability of Members:

The allegations specifically mention “vulnerable young women,” highlighting how:

  • Shincheonji’s control structure creates vulnerability
  • Leaders have power over members who fear losing salvation
  • The organization’s secrecy protects abusers
  • Members are taught not to question or report leaders

  1. The Pattern of Protecting Leaders:

The note “No conviction noted” suggests:

  • Allegations were made but not successfully prosecuted
  • The organization may have protected the accused
  • Victims faced barriers to justice
  • The difficulty of proving abuse in closed, secretive organizations

  1. Multiple Media Sources:

The fact that multiple reputable media outlets (MBC, JTBC) covered these allegations indicates:

  • The claims were credible enough for journalistic investigation
  • Multiple victims or witnesses came forward
  • The issue was serious enough to warrant public attention
  1. The Broader Problem:

While this is one individual’s alleged behavior, it reveals:

  • How Shincheonji’s power structure can enable abuse
  • The difficulty victims face in seeking justice
  • The organization’s tendency to protect its reputation over protecting victims
  • The need for accountability and transparency

Anonymous Former Member

The Typical Experience

The Parable of Two Seeds Testimony

An anonymous former member shared a detailed testimony describing various aspects of the Shincheonji movement, used with permission on the blog “Shincheonji and the Bible.”

Key Insights from This Testimony:

  1. The Gradual Realization:

The testimony describes how understanding develops over time:

  • Initial enthusiasm and belief in the doctrine
  • Gradual recognition of inconsistencies
  • Growing awareness of manipulation techniques
  • The difficult process of admitting you were deceived

  1. The Parable of Two Seeds:

The focus on this parable (Matthew 13) is significant because:

  • Shincheonji uses it to claim they are the “wheat” and all other churches are “weeds”
  • The testimony likely examines how this interpretation is used to control members
  • It represents a key doctrine that, when questioned, begins to unravel other teachings

  1. The Decision to Share:

The fact that this person:

  • Wrote a detailed testimony
  • Gave permission for it to be published
  • Focused on doctrinal issues
  • Wanted to help others understand Shincheonji’s teachings

…reveals a desire to prevent others from being deceived and to provide resources for those questioning the organization.

1. The Gap Between Public Image and Private Reality

Every high-level testimony reveals:

  • Lee Man-hee’s public humility vs. private demands for money and loyalty
  • The organization’s claims of love vs. the reality of control and fear
  • The teaching of biblical truth vs. the practice of manipulation
  • The promise of salvation vs. the reality of conditional acceptance

The Pattern: The closer you get to leadership, the wider this gap becomes. Those who work directly with Lee Man-hee and see the organization’s inner workings are most likely to leave.

2. Financial Exploitation

Multiple testimonies mention:

  • Pressure on leaders to collect money from members
  • Punishment for not meeting financial targets
  • Demands for personal financial contributions from leaders
  • Lack of transparency about how money is used

The Reality: While Shincheonji presents itself as a spiritual movement, the testimonies reveal it operates like a business with financial targets, pressure to perform, and consequences for not delivering.

3. The “Betrayal” Label as a Control Mechanism

Every leader who leaves is immediately labeled:

  • “Snake” (like Mr. Shin)
  • “Betrayer” (like Mr. Hong)
  • “Weak in faith” (like John the Baptist in their teaching)
  • “Possessed by Satan’s spirit”

The Purpose: This labeling serves to:

  • Prevent current members from listening to ex-members’ testimonies
  • Discredit legitimate concerns about doctrine and practice
  • Create fear that keeps other leaders from leaving
  • Avoid addressing the actual reasons people leave

4. The Psychological Prison of Fear

All testimonies describe:

  • Believing leaving means losing salvation
  • Fear of eternal damnation for questioning
  • Guilt about “betraying” God by leaving
  • Difficulty breaking free even when witnessing problems

The Reality: This psychological control is so powerful that even leaders who witness abuse, financial exploitation, and doctrinal inconsistencies struggle to leave. The fear is deliberately cultivated and maintained through constant reinforcement of the “betrayal” doctrine.

5. The Courage to Speak Out

Despite the personal cost, these leaders:

  • Testified in court (Kim Nam-hee)
  • Gave public interviews (Mr. Shin)
  • Wrote detailed testimonies (anonymous members)
  • Made predictions about the organization’s future (Lee Jae-won)
  • Shared their experiences to help others (young adult group leader)

The Significance: These testimonies represent tremendous courage. Ex-members face:

  • Harassment from current members
  • Loss of all relationships within the organization
  • Potential retaliation
  • Public exposure and judgment
  • The emotional cost of admitting they were deceived

The fact that they speak out anyway demonstrates their conviction that exposing the truth is more important than personal comfort or safety.

What These Testimonies Reveal About Shincheonji’s Core Claims

1. The “Fulfillment of Revelation” Narrative Collapses

The Problem:

  • Multiple tribe leaders have left (they were supposedly part of the 144,000)
  • Mr. Shin, allegedly part of Revelation’s fulfillment, left
  • Kim Nam-hee, considered a witness to fulfillment, left

The Conclusion:

If the people who were supposedly chosen by God to fulfill Revelation’s prophecies are leaving and speaking against the organization, then either:

  • The fulfillment narrative was never true
  • God’s chosen people can fall away (contradicting their doctrine)
  • These people were never actually chosen (meaning the interpretation was wrong)

2. The “Sealed and Cannot Fall Away” Teaching Is False

Shincheonji teaches:

  • The 144,000 are sealed and cannot fall away
  • Those who receive the doctrine are protected from deception
  • True believers will recognize and remain with the promised pastor

But the reality:

  • Tribe leaders (part of the 144,000) have left
  • Those most educated in the doctrine are leaving
  • Those closest to Lee Man-hee are departing

The Conclusion: The “sealing” and “protection from falling away” are not real. The doctrine doesn’t protect people from recognizing problems and leaving.

3. The “Betrayal” Doctrine Is a Control Mechanism, Not Biblical Truth

The Pattern:

  • Every person who leaves is labeled a betrayer
  • No legitimate reason for leaving is acknowledged
  • All departures are attributed to weak faith or Satan’s influence
  • The organization never examines its own problems

The Reality:

If the organization were truly from God, it would:

  • Welcome questions and testing (as Scripture commands)
  • Address legitimate concerns raised by ex-members
  • Examine why so many high-level leaders are leaving
  • Demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness)

Instead, it:

  • Immediately demonizes anyone who leaves
  • Refuses to address concerns
  • Blames individuals rather than examining systemic problems
  • Creates fear to prevent others from leaving

The Conclusion: The “betrayal” doctrine exists to maintain control, not to reflect biblical truth about commitment and faith.

4. Proximity to Truth Claims Reveals Their Falsehood

The Ironic Pattern:

  • Those who study the doctrine most deeply begin to see inconsistencies
  • Those who work closest to Lee Man-hee see his true character
  • Those who reach the highest levels witness the gap between claims and reality
  • Those who should be most convinced are most likely to leave

The Conclusion:

If Shincheonji’s claims were true, the opposite would happen:

  • Deeper study would strengthen conviction
  • Proximity to Lee Man-hee would increase faith
  • Higher levels of leadership would reveal greater truth
  • Those most educated would be most certain

The fact that the opposite occurs reveals that the organization’s foundation is false.

If You’re a Leader Having Doubts:

You are not alone. Multiple tribe leaders, instructors, evangelists, and high-ranking members have:

  • Experienced the same doubts you’re feeling
  • Witnessed the same problems you’re seeing
  • Struggled with the same fear of leaving
  • Eventually found the courage to break free

Your doubts are not betrayal. They are your conscience recognizing truth. The fact that you’re questioning doesn’t mean you’re weak—it means you’re honest.

You are not responsible for keeping the organization together. The pressure you feel to maintain your position, keep your members, and present a facade of certainty is not from God—it’s from an organization that depends on your compliance.

If You’re Studying and Feeling Pressure to Join:

The testimonies of high-level leaders prove:

  • Learning the doctrine doesn’t obligate you to join
  • Taking time to test the teaching is wisdom, not betrayal
  • The organization’s claims don’t withstand scrutiny at higher levels
  • Those who know the most are most likely to leave

You have the right to:

  • Ask questions without being labeled a betrayer
  • Take time to examine the teaching against Scripture
  • Seek counsel from Christians outside the organization
  • Compare Shincheonji’s interpretation with church history
  • Decline to join without guilt or fear

If You’re a Family Member or Friend of Someone in Shincheonji:

These testimonies provide:

  • Evidence that even high-level leaders recognize problems
  • Hope that your loved one can also recognize the truth
  • Understanding of the psychological control that keeps them trapped
  • Resources to help them see the organization’s true nature

Remember:

  • Your loved one is not stupid or weak—they’re under psychological control
  • The fear of losing salvation is real and powerful
  • Breaking free requires tremendous courage
  • Your patient love and support can help them find freedom

When one person leaves an organization and speaks against it, it could be dismissed as an individual problem. When dozens leave, it suggests systemic issues. But when high-ranking leaders—tribe leaders, instructors, chairwomen, and those who worked directly with the founder—consistently leave and speak out, it reveals the organization’s true nature.

These testimonies carry weight because:

  • These people had everything to lose by leaving
  • They knew the doctrine thoroughly and taught it to thousands
  • They witnessed the inner workings at the highest levels
  • They saw Lee Man-hee’s true character up close
  • They recognized the gap between claims and reality

Their consistent message is clear: Shincheonji is not the fulfillment of Revelation, Lee Man-hee is not the promised pastor, and the organization uses fear and control to maintain power over members.

The courage of these leaders to speak out, despite the personal cost, demonstrates their conviction that exposing the truth is more important than protecting the organization’s reputation or their own comfort.

If you’re in Shincheonji or studying with them, listen to these voices. They’ve walked the path you’re on. They’ve reached the levels you aspire to. They’ve seen what you haven’t yet seen. And they’re telling you: it’s not what it claims to be.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36)

Featured Testimony: Former Shincheonji Senior Leader

Video: “Former Shincheonji Senior Leader SPEAKS OUT!”

This video features an in-depth interview with a former senior leader of Shincheonji, providing rare insight into the organization’s leadership structure.

Key Revelations from This Testimony:

  1. The Leadership Perspective:

As a senior leader, this individual had access to:

  • Decision-making processes at high levels
  • Financial information not shared with ordinary members
  • Direct interaction with Lee Man-hee and other top leaders
  • Knowledge of how doctrine is created and modified
  1. The Journey from Belief to Doubt:

The testimony traces the psychological journey of:

  • Initial conviction and enthusiasm for the teaching
  • Gradual recognition of inconsistencies
  • The struggle between loyalty and truth
  • The difficult decision to leave despite years of investment
  1. The Cost of Speaking Out:

By appearing on video and sharing their story, this former leader:

  • Risks harassment from current members
  • Loses relationships with everyone still in the organization
  • Faces potential retaliation
  • Demonstrates courage by putting a face to their testimony

This video specifically examines Lee Man-hee’s claims and the doctrinal foundation of Shincheonji.

Key Points Analyzed:

  1. The Core Claim About Jesus:

The video examines Shincheonji’s teaching that “Jesus is back in spirit” through Lee Man-hee, and that Lee Man-hee “gives these messages directly to the people.”

The Problem with This Teaching:

  • It contradicts Jesus’s promise to send the Holy Spirit to all believers (John 14:16-17)
  • It creates a mediator between God and believers, contradicting 1 Timothy 2:5
  • It makes salvation dependent on access to one man
  • It elevates Lee Man-hee to a position equal to or greater than Jesus

  1. The Pattern of Deception:

The video documents how Shincheonji:

  • Presents itself as mainstream Christianity initially
  • Gradually introduces unique doctrines
  • Uses biblical language with different meanings
  • Hides its true identity during recruitment

  1. Former Member Perspectives:

The video includes testimonies from multiple former members who explain:

  • How they were deceived by the teaching
  • What red flags they missed initially
  • How they eventually recognized the lies
  • What helped them break free

The Impact: By systematically examining Lee Man-hee’s claims and comparing them with Scripture and former member experiences, this video provides a comprehensive resource for those questioning the organization.

This video examines one of Shincheonji’s core doctrinal claims about the fulfillment of Revelation.

Why This Topic Matters:

  1. The Foundation of Shincheonji’s Claims:

Shincheonji’s entire authority rests on the claim that:

  • Revelation has been fulfilled literally
  • Lee Man-hee witnessed this fulfillment
  • The events of Revelation 6 occurred in specific, identifiable ways
  • Only those who accept this interpretation can be saved

  1. The Detailed Analysis:

The video provides:

  • Examination of Shincheonji’s interpretation of Revelation 6
  • Comparison with orthodox Christian interpretations
  • Historical and contextual analysis of the text
  • Identification of logical and biblical problems with Shincheonji’s claims

  1. The Former Member Perspective:

The testimony includes:

  • How this teaching was presented during the education process

  • How recognizing problems with this interpretation led to questioning other doctrines

  • How this method is applied to Revelation 6
  • Why this interpretation is problematic biblically
  • How Shincheonji changes interpretations when events don’t match predictions
  • The circular reasoning involved in their method

  1. The Problem of Verification:

The video addresses:

  • How can anyone verify that the fulfillment occurred as claimed?
  • Why do only Shincheonji members “see” this fulfillment?

  • How the organization maintains belief despite failed predictions

  1. Alternative Interpretations:

The testimony explores:

  • How orthodox Christianity understands Revelation 6
  • Historical interpretations from church fathers and scholars

The Undeniable Evidence

The video testimonies on “Shincheonji Exposed,” “Free of Shincheonji,” and in professional media investigations provide overwhelming evidence that:

  2. The organization’s claims about fulfilling Revelation are false, as evidenced by the departure of those who were supposedly part of that fulfillment.
  3. Lee Man-hee is not the promised pastor of Revelation, but rather the leader of an organization that controls members through fear and deception.
  4. Those who leave Shincheonji consistently report relief, freedom, and improved lives, contradicting the organization’s claims that leaving leads to destruction.
  5. Experts, journalists, and religious leaders consistently identify Shincheonji as a cult based on its practices and impact.

In a world overflowing with information, it is essential to cultivate a spirit of discernment. As we navigate the complexities of our time, let us remember the wisdom found in Proverbs 14:15: “The simple believes everything, but the prudent gives thought to his steps.” This verse calls us to be vigilant and thoughtful, encouraging us to seek the truth rather than accept information at face value.

As we engage with various sources and experts, let us approach each piece of information with a humble heart, always ready to verify and reflect. The pursuit of truth is not merely an intellectual exercise; it is a journey of faith. We are reminded in 1 Thessalonians 5:21 to “test all things; hold fast what is good.” This calls us to actively engage with the information we encounter, ensuring it aligns with the values and teachings we hold dear.

In a time when misinformation can easily spread, we must be watchful and discerning. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 7:15 to “beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” This warning serves as a reminder that not all information is presented with good intentions. We must be diligent in our quest for truth, seeking transparency and validation from multiple sources.

Moreover, let us remember the importance of humility. In our efforts to discern truth, we may encounter organizations or narratives that seek to control information. It is crucial to approach these situations with a spirit of awareness and caution. As Proverbs 18:13 states, “If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame.” We must listen carefully and consider the implications of what we hear before forming conclusions.

Let us also be mindful not to be content with what we read, even in this post. Always verify the information you encounter for potential errors and seek a deeper understanding. The truth is worth the effort, and our commitment to discernment reflects our dedication to integrity.

Finally, let us not forget the promise of guidance found in James 1:5: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him.” In our pursuit of truth, let us seek divine wisdom, trusting that God will illuminate our path and help us discern what is right.

As we strive for understanding, may we be like the Bereans mentioned in Acts 17:11, who “received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.” Let us commit ourselves to this diligent search for truth, ensuring that our hearts and minds are aligned with God’s Word.

With humility and courage, let us continue to seek the truth together, always verifying, always questioning, and always striving for transparency in our quest for knowledge.
