While the message of the Bible is divine, it was written down by human authors, and was hidden away in “parables” or “figurative language”. In order to receive salvation, one must know and understand the figurative language in order to receive salvation.

The names of people and places recorded in the Old Testament are mostly meant to be literally understood. Many of those names of people and places in the Old Testament appear again in the New Testament. In the New Testament, however, they are meant to be figuratively understood. If we fail to understand and keep the prophecies of the New Testament that have been sealed by figurative language, we too, will become like the people of Adam’s time, Noah’s time, Moses’ time, and the time of Jesus’ first coming that could not attain salvation because they did not believe.
The Bible and Infallibility
Regarding the Bible’s infallibility, Shincheonji holds that the scriptures are divinely inspired and authoritative. However, they assert that traditional Christian interpretations have misunderstood or misrepresented the Bible’s true meaning. Therefore, they place significant emphasis on their unique interpretations, which they believe unveil the true intentions of God’s word.
