When the seventh seal is opened, there is a period of silence lasting half an hour, followed by seven angels receiving seven trumpets—four in Revelation 8 and two in Revelation 9. These trumpets are sounded to expose the apostates and the destroyers.
- (Revelation 8:1) While the half-hour of silence was seen as a literal 30 minutes, its fulfillment spanned six months.
- Amid persecution, the trumpet was blown to expose the corruption of the seven shepherds of the Tabernacle Temple and the Nicolaitans.
- On September 20, 1981, at 2:00 p.m., a pastor installation ceremony took place. The Chairman witnessed the entire event and publicly identified the apostates and destroyers.
The Pivotal Event of the 42 Months of Destruction
This event stands as the most significant moment within the 42 months of destruction. It marks the revelation of the true figures of the wheat and barley, exposing the identity of the apostate Tabernacle Temple and the Stewardship Education Center that led to its downfall.
But did this event truly take place?
Moreover, the interpretation of the “half an hour” has varied significantly over time. If it had a clear and definitive meaning, why have there been multiple explanations for it?
As for the Stewardship Education Center, which claims to be the true representation of the 7H 10H beast, we will explore that topic in a future discussion.
Did Lee Manhee ever have a “spiritual” battle with the betrayers and destroyers?
Shincheonji’s Claims:
On September 20, 1981, at 2:00 p.m., the installation ceremony for the pastor of Isaac Church took place.
SCJ members were likely taught—whether through the SCJ Revelation movie or physical fulfillment training—that during this event, the Chairman and his companions (symbolically standing on the sea of glass) publicly declared,
“You are the betrayers and destroyers of Revelation.”
This moment is often portrayed as a dramatic fulfillment of prophecy within SCJ’s narrative, but a critical question remains: Did this truly align with biblical prophecy, or is it a reinterpretation shaped to fit SCJ’s claims?
And also Kim Sang-tae claimed to be at the pastor installation ceremony. testified as the photos below.
Testimony of Kim Sang-Tae

Kim: “On September 20, 1981, they had a very big pastor installation ceremony.” |

Kim : “Baek Dong-seop prayed as a representative, and Yoo Jae-yeol was supposed to preach the sermon, but he never showed up until then.” |

Kim : “(The chairman) said you are the beasts in the Revelation! and You are the beast of the earth. We were surprised. |

Kim : “He(Chairman) said, “You are the beast and you are the destroyer,” and there was chaos. |
When comparing Kim’s testimony to what Mr. Oh said under oath in court, it appears that a lot of the story and fulfillment is fabricated.
As we will discuss below, it is a false testimony that differs from the bulletin. He testified that Mr. Baek prayed as a representative, but Mr. Baek did not participate in that service, nor did he join the stewardship education center. because of these things, defamation for deceased trial in ongoing.

Q: Does the witness(Oh Pyeong-ho) know Kim Sang-tae? A: No, I don’t.
Q: Mr. Kim was a member of the Tabernacle temple for about 10 years since 1973, and he said that every member of the Tabernacle was recognizable because he was a big man, always wore a beret, had a star on his trousers, and had the same hairstyle 30 years ago as he does now. A: I can still recognise people who joined the Tabernacle temple after 1975, because I have to pray for their souls, but I don’t recognise that guy at all. Q: Did the airborne troops ever come to the Tabernacle temple and take Kim and other people to *Samcheong re-education camp? A: That never happened. Samcheong re-education camp: |
Q(Bluesky): Were there about seven pastors at the installation ceremony?
A(Oh Pyeong-ho) : Not all of them.
Q: Not all of them were able to attend, and from your memory, I remember Tak Sung-hwan and Kim Jung-doo, and what about Pastor Baek Dong-seop?
A: He didn’t attend either. People in Shincheonji talk without knowing.
There are so many lies that are being told in Shincheonji right now.
Q: As I understand it, Pastor Baek has nothing to do with the Stewardship Education Center at all.
A: Yes, he has nothing to do with it.
Q: But Shincheonji claims that Pastor Baek participated in the installation ceremony and even gave a representative prayer.
A: That is an obvious lie. Mr. Baek is dead now, and Kim Bong-kwan, Tak Sung-hwan, and Kim Jung-doo are also dead. They are mostly deceased.

Q: So you’re saying there’s no history of people being paid to be ordained as ministers when they weren’t qualified at the Tabernacle temple?
A: There is no such thing in Christianity. Q: Was there any involvement of Pastor Baek in the ordination of the pastors? A: No. Q : During the installation ceremony, did Mr Lee Man-hee attend the ceremony and cause a disturbance by shouting, “You are beasts and destroyers”, causing the ceremony to be disrupted? A : Not at all. Q : Did the event proceed well and in a calm manner? A : Yes. |
According to the testimony of Hong Jong-hyo, one of SCJ’s so-called “two witnesses,” Chairman Lee Man-hee attended the pastor installation ceremony on September 20, 1981, along with his friend Kim (redacted)-taek, but they merely observed the event and did not publicly proclaim anything.
If there had been chaos—such as accusations, lawsuits, or police intervention—there should be official records documenting these incidents. However, no such records exist.
Additionally, a written statement from Yoo Jae-yeol, the leader of the Tabernacle Temple, sheds further light on this issue. In an interview regarding recent COVID-related issues within SCJ, Yoo Jae-yeol affirmed that several accusations and lawsuits took place between him and Lee Man-hee over time.
However, according to Yoo Jae-yeol’s written statement and an article from HD Religion, he never personally met or confronted Lee Man-hee in any direct conflict. This contradicts SCJ’s claims of a dramatic confrontation at the installation ceremony.
This raises an important question: If SCJ’s narrative about this event were true, why is there no evidence to support it?

I Want to Know That Dear SBS ‘I Want to Know That’, Hello, this is Yu00. I would like to tell you that the doctrine of the Tabernacle Temple that I created in 1966 was clearly a wrong doctrine. At the time, I thought the end would come on a certain date. I also thought I was a savior. I think it was a wrong doctrine because my interpretation of the Bible was based on my immature subjective interpretation. I repent and regret. I would also like to talk about the relationship between SBS Pia. I belonged to the subtitle temple, and at that time, I slept on a specific date |

I would also like to tell you about my relationship with Mr. Lee Man-hee. He was in the tabernacle temple for a while, and in the 70s, there was a lawsuit due to accusations and accusations against each other. |

These photos, specifically the bulletin of the Pastor Installation Ceremony, are used in SCJ’s physical fulfillment training to support their narrative.
However, upon closer examination, the fonts, numbers, figures, and—most importantly—the list of pastors differ across versions.
This discrepancy indicates that at least one of them has been forged—or possibly, all of them.
At 0:09, three different versions of the bulletin have been identified within SCJ:
- 1987 version
- 1994 version
- 1997 version
Each version contains inconsistencies in fonts, content, and layout, raising serious doubts about the authenticity of SCJ’s claims regarding this event.
Installation of the 10 Elders
The appointment of elders falls under the jurisdiction of the presbytery according to Presbyterian law. However, at that time, no presbytery ordination ceremony for elders took place—only a pastor installation ceremony for 17 theology graduates. This event was approved by the presbytery and held at Isaac Church (formerly the Tabernacle Temple).
If this were truly a major event, such as the appointment of ten elders (which SCJ claims represents the ten horns in Revelation), it would not have been omitted from the official bulletin.
Additionally, Oh Pyeong-ho, a key figure at the time, testified that a pastor installation ceremony took place, but no elder installation occurred.
Discrepancies in SCJ’s Physical Fulfillment Narrative:
SCJ’s physical fulfillment training falsely teaches that 17 evangelists (labeled as the “17 idols” of the Tabernacle Temple), who were dissatisfied with Mr. Oh, were ordained as pastors in a single ordination on this day.
- However, this claim is not true—these 17 individuals had completed a formal theological program and were ordained through the presbytery, not through an irregular, mass ordination.
The interpretation of “a half hour” has changed multiple times within SCJ over the years.
As someone who was taught in SCJ, I recall learning the following explanation:
Before the Trumpet events, the Chairman and a few individuals (who were claimed to be the true figures of the seven bowls) gathered and ate Chinese food. They remained silent for half an hour because they were nervous.
SCJ taught that this moment of silence due to nervousness was the fulfillment of the “half an hour” mentioned in Revelation.
However, SCJ has also provided different explanations over time:
- In some versions, it was said that the half an hour in Revelation was a vision, but its actual fulfillment lasted six months.
- Initially, the Chairman taught that the “half an hour” represented six months.
This raises a critical question: If SCJ truly received the correct fulfillment from God, why did their interpretation of such a key prophecy keep changing?

When the last seal is opened, the heavens are said to be silent for half an hour, and since a time is said to be a year in Rev 12, a half hour is said to be six months.
These six months are the preparation period for the blowing of the trumpet, so it is silent because it has not yet made a sound. |

When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
In the passages, when the seventh seal is opened, the heavens are said to be silent for half a time. This half hour is a reference to six months (Dan. 11:13). |

The booklet <The Reality of Revelation> (2005, by Lee Man-hee), which came out after the official position on the half hour was changed, shows the half hour as 30 minutes (pictured below), and it was said that it was a mistake on the part of the person who proofread the book that the interpretation of the half an hour was wrong. Below is what was written on the official website. |

[Correct Understanding of Slander] About half an hour.
Thank you for seeing the error and pointing it out. Hours in Revelation and times in Revelation are clearly different. The time in Daniel 11:13 and Revelation 12:14 refer to a year. However, the half hour in Revelation 8:1 is half an hour, so it refers to a half hour. The fact that the booklet on Shincheonji refers to half an hour as six months is an editing mistake that occurred during the publication process. The person who proofread the manuscript mistook or misunderstood half an hour for half time, resulting in a different outcome from the original manuscript. Even primary school students know that half an hour is 30 minutes. We realized with hindsight that half an hour was recorded as six months in the previous booklet and corrected it to 30 minutes in the recently published <The Reality of Revelation>. |
Why does it keep changing? If he’s taken the book and testified to it, shouldn’t he be telling the unchanging truth from the beginning?
Below is a video which summarizes how the interpretation to the half an hour discussed above changed.
Manipulation of the 7 Stars
According to Kim Sang-Tae’s testimony, the 7 stars stood out the most and was the first thing that he noticed when he was a member of the Tabernacle Temple.
