SCJ’s Teaching on the Trinity
u/Shincheonji-Skeptic (Moderator)
Various people have asked me how SCJ teaches the concept of the trinity. Here follows two articles written by Man Hee Lee and some educational material that we used while I were in SCJ.
14 – The God of the Trinity
Most Christian denominations believe in the doctrine of the Trinity; they often regard belief in the Trinity as a sign of Christian orthodoxy.
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Mt 28:19 – 20)
Mt 28:19 – 20 does mention that people should be baptized “in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,” but the Bible does not mention the word Trinity.
When people use the word “Trinity” they refer to the idea that God is three in one; the idea that God is simultaneously both one and three beings. People read verses like Mt 28:19 – 20 and created the doctrine of the Trinity. How is it that three beings can simultaneously exist as one being? The father, son, and holy spirit in Mt 28:19 – 20, are three separate beings that all dwelled within Jesus’ body (Mt 3:16). Since God is in Jesus (Jn 14:10), the holy father, the holy son, and the holy spirit are in one body. This is the true meaning of trinity. This is why Jesus was able to say that he and the father were one (Jn 10:30). When Jesus no longer had a physical body, the three again existed as three separate beings.
According to Jn 3:34, God gives the spirit without limit to the one whom speaks God’s words. According to Acts 7:55 – 56, Stephen, while full of the holy spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, but he also saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God. Stephen saw both God and Jesus as two separate beings. Remember, too, that the scriptures cannot be broken (Jn 10:35).
While Jesus was working on earth, both God and the holy spirit were in him. According to the Bible, when Jesus’ spirit remains within us after receiving Holy Spirit (Jn 7:38-39), three beings will be able to dwell in one body again.
Let’s look at a few reference scriptures that reveal how Jesus’ spirit is within us. Rom 8:9 says, “You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this person does not belong to him.” Through the shedding of Jesus’ blood on the cross, God sends the spirit of his son into our hearts according to Gal 4:1 – 7. Today, at the time of Revelation’s fulfillment, Jesus is knocking at the door of our hearts because he wants to come in and dwell within us (Rv 3:20; Jn 14:20). Jesus bore the cross to fulfill this work. Since Jesus is now fulfilling God’s will that he promised to accomplish on earth in the last days, Jesus also warns us about the appearance of many false prophets and antichrists that appear within the Christian world at the time of the end (Mt 24:11, 24). We must be alert so that we can avoid being deceived by their false doctrines.
What is the true will of God? What must we do to accomplish it?
God’s first command was not to have other gods before him (Ex 20:1 – 3). The second was not to make any image for worship (Ex 20:4 – 6). Israel was destroyed because Solomon built idols and worshipped them in God’s holy temple (1 Kgs 11). In Korea, the Protestant churches that once emerged from Catholicism, worshipped the image of the Japanese emperor during the Japanese colonization. Only a few churches refused. In this era of corruption, it is now time to pray in spirit and truth (Jn 4:23 – 24). It is time to unite and obey the holy father, holy son and holy spirit.
According to the scriptures, when the seventh trumpet sounds, God will bring with him “those who have fallen asleep.” In the sense that those who have died in the Lord will come with him as spiritual bodies (1 Cor 15:51 – 54; 1 Thes 4:13 – 16). Then we will be changed; born again as a new creation with the water and the spirit. Death, crying, mourning, pain, and all the former things will no longer exist (Jn 3:3 – 7; 2 Cor 5:17; Rv 21:4). When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, death is swallowed up in victory. Shouldn’t we believe this? We cannot create truth by persistently claiming something to be true. The truth is something that happens according to God’s word. Let us believe that God fulfills everything according to the Bible.
207 – The Doctrine of the Trinity
What is the trinity? Few people ever stop to ask whether or not the term trinity appears in the Bible. In traditional Christianity, the trinity refers to the concept that God is three beings in one. The Bible, however, never mentions the word trinity. The Bible speaks about the father, the son, and the holy spirit, but never refers to them as a single entity or unit. In fact, 1 Jn 5:7 – 8 says, “For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement,” (NIV). These three may be united, but they are not a single entity.
The doctrine of the trinity states that the father, son, and holy spirit are a single unit or entity. Now, it could be argued that they appeared as a single entity at the time of the first coming when both the father and the holy spirit dwelt within the body of the son, Jesus Christ; however, in the spiritual world, these three exist as three separate entities. They are individual beings with distinct spiritual bodies.
Let us now examine whether or not, according to scripture, these three have distinct spiritual bodies. Prior to the first coming of Christ, God and Jesus were two different entities. When Christ came, he said the father was greater than him (Jn 14:28), and he prayed to God (Mt 26:39). God spoke to Jesus on the mountain of transfiguration (Mt 17:5), the holy spirit descended on Jesus at his baptism (Mt 3:16; Jn 1:32), and while Stephen, the first martyr, was being stoned to death he said he saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God (Acts 7:56). The Bible also explains how Apostle John saw the Lamb standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. In his vision, John watched as the Lamb approached and taken a scroll from the hand of God who was seated on the throne (Rv 5:6 – 7). These examples make it clear that the father and son have separate spiritual bodies in the spiritual world.
The traditional concept of the trinity does apply for the time of the first coming when God the father and the holy spirit dwelt within the physical body of Jesus, the son. After the ascension of Jesus, however, all three again exist as separate beings in the spiritual world. At the time of Revelation’s fulfillment, when Christ returns according to his promises, God, Jesus, and the holy spirit are all spiritual beings. Each one must be considered holy. There is nothing to suggest they should be considered a single entity at that time. When the prophecies of the New Testament are fulfilled, the name of God, the name of the city of God, and the new name of Jesus are written on the one who overcomes (Rv 3:12). The names of God and Jesus are also written on the foreheads of those who belong to the new 12 tribes (Rv 14:1; Rv 22:4). The Bible does mention ‘holy spirits’ and ‘evil spirits’, but it never mentions a trinity. God’s holy spirit, is a single entity, not a tripartite being. Believers should base their faith on the Bible and believe the testimony that is given according to the Bible.
Even as the first heaven and earth pass away (Mt 24:29; Rv 6; Rv 21:1), and though the grass withers, and flowers fall, God and his word stand forever (Is 40:7 – 8). Testimonies regarding the truth of God’s word and the correct understanding of the Bible will also stand forever. This is the teaching of Shincheonji. Shincheonji members are not seeking worldly power or authority; our only desire is to know the one true God, and his son Jesus Christ, to whom we are eternally grateful. How could anyone forget how he was crucified on our behalf to fulfill the will of God? The gift of love we have received from God and from Jesus is so magnificent. What a great debt we have to repay! We should always remember that incredible love. We should hold it in our hearts and respond with unending thanksgiving. This is the kind of attitude we should have before God and his son Jesus.
Special Lesson – Doctrine of the Trinity
Introduction:
Most Christian denominations believe in the doctrine of the trinity. They believe that God is one being (nature – what he is) that exists in three persons (identity – who he is) that all share the same self-existent nature (they are not created but eternal). They say that the three persons of the trinity are three different states of consciousness, three different minds or three different personalities. They believe that God the Father is God, Jesus the son is God and the Holy Spirit is also God. They say that in order for God to be a relational God he needs others to be in a relationship with otherwise he wasn’t a relational God before he created all of creation. They say that a God who is one being and one person cannot be considered to be a relational God. He would only become relational when there is something to have a relationship with and therefore needs others outside of himself to become his true self. This would mean that he has to adapt and change to His environment which would contradict God’s unchanging nature. From this they conclude that the trinity is a necessary doctrine to believe in. They say that the trinity can never be completely understood because God is infinitely greater than we are, and we will never be able to fully understand Him (Is 40:13). They say that if creation was able to understand the Creator, then that Creator must be a false god. They say that we need to accept the doctrine of the trinity by faith even though we don’t fully understand it. They mainly use Mt 28:19 – 20 and 1 Jn 5:7 – 8 as evidence for their belief.
Fundamental Problem with the Doctrine of the Trinity:
Just because we have heard about the trinity many times, it doesn’t mean that it’s true. If we believe something that doesn’t make sense just because it keeps being repeated by people, then it means that we have been brainwashed (Pro 14:15). We don’t create truth by consistently claiming something to be true. We shouldn’t create a doctrine and then afterwards try to pick specific verses in the Bible to justify that belief even if we use the verses out of its intended context. The truth is something that is discovered and revealed through God’s Word. The word “trinity” is not found anywhere in the Bible nor is the concept of the trinity explained anywhere in the Bible. The trinity has been heavily debated and is a source of great controversy due to misunderstanding of the Bible. There are two major reasons why people believe in the doctrine of the trinity. Firstly, it is because they don’t understand about spirit working through flesh, they think that spirit can become flesh (2 Sam 23:2, Job 26:4, Is 59:21, Mt 10:20, Jn 6:63, 1 Cor 3:16). Secondly, it is because they can’t fully accept God’s unchanging divine nature (Num 23:19, 1 Sam 15:29, Jer 4:28, Mal 3:6, Heb 6:18, Jas 1:17).
When we analyze the trinity doctrine, there are things that don’t make sense. If God exists as three persons with three different minds then which mind makes the decisions? Do all three minds think, feel and desire exactly the same thing all the time? If they don’t, then they will come to different conclusions and make different decisions. If they do, then why do they need to be in a relationship since they all think, feel and desire exactly the same thing and there would no need to communicate.
Origin of the Doctrine of the Trinity:
The Jews never believed in the doctrine of the trinity since it’s not explained in the Old Testament. The doctrine of the trinity is a man-made doctrine that became popularized long after Jesus and his apostles died. After the death of Jesus and his apostles (after 100AD), various views of scripture came to be and the Christian church became divided. The Roman Emperor, Constantine (306AD – 337AD), converted to Christianity and lifted the ban on Christianity with the Edict of Malan in 313AD. He tried to unify the Christian church for political reasons by calling together the church leaders and had them decide what were the correct interpretations of scripture. At the Council of Nicaea in 325AD they agreed that Jesus is God, at the Council of Constantinople in 381AD they agreed that the Holy Spirit is God, and at the Council of Chalcedon in 451AD they agreed that Jesus is both man and God. Since that time the trinity doctrine has been considered an orthodox Christian doctrine and if one does not share this belief then one could be labelled as a heresy (cult).
Common Biblical Misunderstandings:
They use Gn 1:1 where the Hebrew word “Elohim” is used for God. They say that the word “Elohim” is a plural noun which shows the evidence for the trinity. But the word Elohism is also used in Ex 7:1 where God tells Moses that he will make him “Elohim” to Pharaoh. Does this mean that Moses will become part of the trinity? But then God will become four persons and not three anymore. Moses wasn’t God but rather the one who came in God’s name to speak on his behalf (Ex 3:1 – 10, 4:16, 7:1, 33:11, Num 12:1 – 9). The Bible says that there is only one God (Dt 6:4, Is 45:21, 46:9 – 10, Mal 2:10, 1 Cor 8:4, 1 Tim 2:5).
They use verses like Gn 1:26, 3:22, 11:7 and Is 6:8 where it uses the word “us” and say that this proves the trinity. If Gn 1:26 was referring to the trinity then it means that Adam was created into the image and likeness of the trinity when he ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Gn 2:17, 3:1 – 6, 3:22). Then it means that Satan spoke the truth when he said that Adam would become more like God if he ate from the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Gn 3:1 – 6). In Gn 1:26, the word “us” is referring to God and His holy angels who dwell with him in heaven (Ps 103:20 – 22). One of God’s holy angels became corrupt and betrayed God (Is 14:12 – 15, Ez 28:11 – 19, 2 Pt 2:4, Jude 1:6). When Adam ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he didn’t become like God but became an opposer of God like Satan.
They use the following verses to prove that God exists as a trinity (three persons):
- Mt 3:16 – 17 – The Holy Spirit came upon Jesus and God spoke from Heaven
- Mt 12:28 – Jesus drove out demons by the Holy Spirit and God’s kingdom had come upon them
- Mt 28:19 – Jesus commanded his disciples to baptize people in the name of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit
- Lk 1:35 – An angel said that the Holy Spirit and God will come upon Mary to give birth to Jesus
- John 14:16 – 17, 26 – Jesus said he will ask God to send the Holy Spirit to the people
- Acts 10:38 – God anointed Jesus with the power of the Holy Spirit
- Rom 14:17 – 18 – The kingdom of God is the dwelling place of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit
- 2 Cor 1:21 – 22 – God makes us stand firm in Jesus and puts the Holy Spirit inside of our hearts
- 2 Cor 13:14 – The grace of Jesus, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit is with us
- 1 Pt 1:2 – Foreknowledge of God, sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit and obedience to Jesus Christ
- 1 Jn 5:7 – 8 – the Father (God), the Word (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit are one
They use the following verses to prove that Jesus is God:
- Is 7:14, Mt 1:23 – Jesus was called Immanuel meaning “God with us”
- Is 9:6 – Jesus was called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace
- Mt 2:1-2, Mt 28:8-9 – Jesus was worshiped by the Magi and Mary on two different occasions
- Jn 1:1-4, 1 Cor 8:6, Col 1:15 – 19, Heb 1:1-2 – Jesus is the self – existent creator God who created the heavens and the earth
- Jn 1:14, 10:30, 14:9 – 11, 17:21 – 23, Col 2:9 – 10, Php 2:5 – 7, Heb 1:3, 1 Jn 1:1 – Jesus is God in the flesh, embodiment of God
- Jn 5:18-19, 10:33 – Jesus claimed to be God and made himself equal to God
- Jn 8:57-58 – Jesus claimed to have existed before Abraham
- Jn 20:27-28, Rom 9:5, 1 Jn 5:20 – Jesus was called God by his Apostle Thomas, Paul and John
- Acts 20:28 – God purchased his church with his own blood
- Heb 1:6-8 – God commanded angels to worship Jesus and calls Jesus God himself
- Rv 1:17-18, 2:8, 22:13 – Jesus calls himself the first and the last, the Alpha and the Omega
They use the following verses to prove that the Holy Spirit is God:
- Ps 139:7-8 – The Holy Spirit is omnipresent (present everywhere)
- Jn 3:3-8, 1 Jn 3:9 – The one born of the Holy Spirit is born of God
- Acts 5:3-4 – Peter said that lying to the Holy Spirit is lying to God
- Acts 8:29, 11:12, 13:2 – The Holy Spirit is a person who speaks, has a will and emotions
- Rom 8:26-27 – The Holy Spirit intercedes for us
- 1 Cor 12:11 – The Holy Spirit has a will
- Eph 4:30 – The Holy Spirit has emotions
- 1 Cor 2:10-11 – The Holy Spirit is omniscient (all knowing)
- 1 Cor 3:16, 6:19 – We are the Temple of God because the Holy Spirit dwells inside of us
- 2 Cor 3:17 – God is the Holy Spirit
- 2 Cor 13:14, Php 2:1 – We can have fellowship with the Holy Spirit
- 2 Tim 3:16, 2 Pt 1:20-21 – God’s Word is also called the Word and will of the Holy Spirit
Is Jesus God?
If Jesus is God, then how could God have spoken to Jesus on the mountain of transfiguration (Mt 17:5)? How can God know something that Jesus doesn’t know (Mt 24:36)? Why did Jesus have to pray to God, call God father and why was it possible for Jesus to desire something outside of God’s will (Mt 26:39)? Why did Jesus ask God why God forsook him and then right after that gave up his own spirit (Mt 27:46, 50)? Why was Jesus upset when they called him good and then said that only God is good (Mk 10:18)? How could Jesus learn wisdom and grow in favor with God (Is 7:15 – 16, Lk 2:52)? How could Jesus only do the things that he was shown by God (Jn 5:19)? Why would Jesus seek God’s acknowledgement (Jn 5:30)? Why would Jesus say that his teaching is not his own but came from God who sent him (Jn 7:16)? How could we do greater works than Jesus (Jn 14:12)? How can God be greater than Jesus (Jn 14:28)? How could Stephen see Jesus sitting on God’s right hand (Acts 7:56, Rom 8:34, Eph 1:20, Col 3:1, Heb 1:3, 1:13, 8:1, 10:12, 12:2, 1 Pt 3:22)? How can God put everything under Jesus (1 Cor 15:27 – 28)? How can Jesus be a mediator between mankind and God (1 Tim 2:5)? How could Jesus have been tempted if God cannot be tempted (Heb 4:15, Jas 1:13)? Why does it say that God had to teach Jesus obedience, that Jesus cried out to God to save him from death and that Jesus achieved perfection over time (Heb 5:极9)? How could God give Jesus revelation (Rv 1:1)? How could Jesus take the scroll from God’s right hand (Rv 5:6 – 7)? This makes it clear that God and Jesus have separate spiritual bodies in the spiritual world.
The true meaning of the Trinity:
The Bible speaks about the father (God), the son (Jesus) and the holy spirit, but never refers to them as a single being. However, the Bible does teach that these three are united, but they are most certainly not a single being. How can three persons simultaneously exist as one being? It can be argued that they appeared as a single entity at the time of the first coming when both the father (God) and the holy spirit dwelt within the body of the son (Jesus Christ). This is the true meaning of trinity. However, when Jesus no longer had his physical body these three existed as three separate beings in the spiritual world. They are individual beings with separate spiritual bodies. The Bible does not teach that Jesus or the Holy Spirit is the creator God. If Jesus was God then this would contradict God’s unchanging divine nature (Num 23:19, 1 Sam 15:29, Jer 4:28, Mal 3:6, Heb 6:18, Jas 1:17).

Hello, recently our pastor joined this Stewardship Education Center. And I couldn’t disagree more by the doctrine of this org. 1 thing I just want to ask. Does Stewardship Education Center or Shincheonji believes that God the Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit is one?
↳ u/Shincheonji-Skeptic (Moderator)
SCJ doesn’t. I don’t know what the SEC’s position is on the trinity.
↳ u/PictureSilly3022
Is Stewardship Education Center and Shincheonji not the same? I thought they have the same Leader which is Lee?
↳ u/Shincheonji-Skeptic (Moderator)
The SEC doesn’t exist anymore. SCJ considers the SEC to be the destroyers (group of the beast in Revelation). Man Hee Lee is the leader of SCJ and never belonged to the SEC since he considered them to be his enemy.
↳ u/PictureSilly3022
So what does Shincheonji believe in regards to the trinity?
↳ u/Shincheonji-Skeptic (Moderator)
Are you trolling? That’s literally what my post was about 🤣
u/QuestionsAboutSCJ (Moderator)
For those who are wondering:
This link goes through almost every objection to the Deity of Christ.
u/Radaniel9
Solid, solid post you have here! The literal heresy of denying the Trinity is what I will use to dissuade at least a few people from staying in the church in you can even call it that. Every verse I had in my arsenal is in here along with countless more. I seriously wonder where SCJ initially got the skepticism of the Trinity from. My guess is influence from Mormons or some nontrinitarian denomination from the pre Korean War era.

Some questions:
- Is God and God’s spirit separate, does God have his own heavenly body and a spirit inside?
- Did Jesus exist as a spirit before his birth?
- What happened to Jesus’ body after his resurrection?
- How many spirits in LMH? Two or three?
↳ u/Shincheonji-Skeptic (Moderator)
SCJ teaches that God is a spirit. That he doesn’t have his own body with a spirit inside. That Jesus didn’t exist as a spirit before his birth. That Jesus’ body transfigured into a spiritual body after his resurrection.
They teach that many spirits work through MHL. They don’t assign an amount to it though.

I’ll go ahead and start with the low-hanging fruit, and I’m curious to see how SCJ would respond.
- If Jesus isn’t God, then how can he accept worship? Or at least not directly criticize those who are worshipping him?
Some of the verses you have already mentioned:
- Mt 2:1 – 2, Mt 28:8 – 9 – Jesus was worshiped by the Magi and Mary on two different occasions
- Jn 1:1 – 4, 1 Cor 8:6, Col 1:15 – 19, Heb 1:1 – 2 – Jesus is the self-existent creator God who created the heavens and the earth
And then some more verses to add to the list: - John 9:38: Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him.
- Matthew 28:17: When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.
I bring this up because if Christ is only a servant of God, then why did he not rebuke the Apostles, Angels, and etc. from worshipping him? We can clearly see in Revelation 19:10 how created beings should not receive worship. If Jesus isn’t God, but instead is okay with accepting worship while only being a servant of God, then that’s idolatry, and considering how God is a jealous God, this contradicts the very nature of the Father and the credibility of Christ himself.- Why is Jesus doing only the will of the Father?
Philippians 2:5-8 already addresses this:
“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!”
The above verse shows that Christ does consider himself to be equal to the Father, but during his time on the earth he humbled himself as a servant to atone for our sins. Which is also why he had the authority to forgive sins, and accept worship.
For a more nuanced definition of the Trinity, I would recommend this blog, for it also addresses the same claims that SCJ quotes.
- The argument with the history of the Trinity:
The Muslims and the Jehovah Witnesses make the same argument, so, I’m going to refer to the following blog which shows that the concept of the Trinity came before the Council of Nicea.
To quote a few prominent Christians who existed before the Council of Nicea:
- Hippolytus of Rome (A.D. 170-236) wrote the following in his work ‘Against the Heresy of One Noetus’ in the early 3rd century:
“See, brethren, what a rash and audacious dogma they have introduced, when they say without shame, the Father is Himself Christ, Himself the Son, Himself was born, Himself suffered, Himself raised Himself. But it is not so…For who will not say that there is one God? Yet he will not on that account deny the economy (i.e., the number and disposition of persons in the Trinity)… As far as regards the power, therefore, God is one. But as far as regards the economy there is a threefold manifestation… And the blessed John, in the testimony of his Gospel, gives us an account of this economy (disposition) and acknowledges this Word as God, when he says, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. If, then, the Word was with God, and was also God, what follows? Would one say that he speaks of two Gods? I shall not indeed speak of two Gods, but of one; of two Persons however, and of a third economy (disposition), viz., the grace of the Holy Ghost.” - Tertullian (A.D. 160-215) was an African Christian who wrote a work against a Modalist champion Praxeas who believed that God was one in person-hood that just took different modes as Jesus and the Holy Spirit at different times. Tertullian wrote the following around 208 A.D.:
“… in the case of this heresy, which supposes itself to possess the pure truth, in thinking that one cannot believe in One Only God in any other way than by saying that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are the very selfsame Person. As if in this way also one were not All, in that All are of One, by unity (that is) of substance; while the mystery of the dispensation is still guarded, which distributes the Unity into a Trinity, placing in their order the three Persons— the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost: three, however, not in condition, but in degree; not in substance, but in form; not in power, but in aspect; yet of one substance, and of one condition, and of one power, inasmuch as He is one God, from whom these degrees and forms and aspects are reckoned, under the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”
The argument that the trinity never appeared before the Council of Nicea is a weak argument, and shows a poor understanding of church history.
As for the typical arguments other groups would make against the case of the Deity of Christ in the Old Testament, which I already see some references in your notes, I would also recommend this blog which goes into detail.

Jn 5:23 the way you honour the father you also honour the son.
SCJ believe Jesus is the word of God being made manifest. The word of God was God and manifested itself, that is his son Jesus Christ.↳ u/QuestionsAboutSCJ (Moderator)
Did you skip idolatry and how God is a jealous God? And only he can accept worship, otherwise that’s idolatry?
This is one of the many reasons why the Jews were mad about Christ.
u/Muyhabja
Thank you for such a thorough response with such valuable links as well 🙏
One thing I noticed in my time in SCJ is that they keep undermining the deity of Christ with their doctrine. By placing Christ as just “God’s Servant” they can now place Man Hee Lee as Christ’s servant with equal importance to Jesus. Even though God calls Jesus his Son, that doesn’t seem to matter much to SCJ because to them we are all God’s children, so God referencing Jesus as his Son loses it’s meaning.
Even though they insist that they don’t worship Man Hee Lee, they often do, he is like a de-facto Jesus. Even sacrificing himself for other people’s sins, given magical powers, kneeling before him. They reason that whatever you do to Man Hee Lee, you do to Jesus as well. Man Hee Lee is even said to speak to God directly.
Did you witness anything like this during your stay in SCJ?↳ u/QuestionsAboutSCJ (Moderator)
Yea I’ve seen this behavior a lot.
The Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses also use the same dishonest tactic when trying to recruit people into their respective sects.
They would use similar key terms that a Christian would identify with, but their own respective sects had a very different meaning, like the Son of God concept for example. - Why is Jesus doing only the will of the Father?
