Chapter 13 reveals the tragic fall of the chosen people—those once part of the “Tabernacle of Heaven”—who become corrupted and defeated. At the heart of Revelation 13 is the emergence of two beasts: one from the sea and one from the earth. The first represents a false pastor empowered by the dragon (interpreted as Satan), and the second aids in deception by performing signs and creating an image for the first beast. These two beasts wage war against the tabernacle community.
The key event in SCJ’s teaching is the invasion and destruction of the Tabernacle Temple, which occurred during a specific 42-month period (September 1980 – March 14, 1984). During this time, the chosen people failed to remain faithful, received the mark of the beast (666) on their foreheads and right hands (interpreted spiritually, not literally), and aligned themselves with Satan’s doctrines.
The “beast from the sea” symbolizes Mr. Tak, while the “beast from the earth” refers to Mr. Oh, whom SCJ identifies as corrupt religious leaders who infiltrated the Tabernacle Temple with false teachings.
This defeat marks what SCJ calls the First War of Revelation—a spiritual battle in which the chosen are overcome. This event precedes Revelation 12 in fulfillment order, even though it follows it in the biblical text. SCJ stresses that Revelation is not in chronological order, and thus chapter 13 is fulfilled before chapter 12.
The failure of these chosen people leads to their replacement by those who overcome later in the story—this introduces the need for a new tabernacle (Revelation 15) and sets the stage for God’s true kingdom to be established.
Revelation Chapter 13: The Beast, the Mark, and the Fall of the Tabernacle
A Historical Fulfillment of Prophecy and Spiritual Betrayal — Testified by the Overcomer, Lee Man-hee (이만희)
The Beast Rises from the Sea — The Beginning of Destruction
“And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea.
I saw a beast coming out of the sea…” (Revelation 13:1)
What once was vision had now become reality — not in the distant heavens, but in South Korea, in the very Tabernacle Temple where the seven stars once stood (Revelation 2–3).
The dragon — identified as Satan — gave his power, throne, and great authority to a beast that emerged from the sea, representing the Gentile world of denominations. This beast, as interpreted by Shincheonji doctrine, referred to pastors who did not know God or His Word.
In 1980, amid political unrest during South Korea’s Fifth Republic under President Chun Doo-hwan, the prophecy began its physical fulfillment. Religious authority was now a political instrument.
“I will give you my authority and throne.”
– declared the dragon to the beast
This transfer of spiritual control was not a myth — it occurred through the Christian Stewardship Training Center (SEC/CSTC), a government-backed training institution for religious control. It was led by destroyer pastors who united with the Tabernacle Temple’s own leadership.

The Infiltration Begins — “Cleansing the Cults”
Under orders from state authorities, the SEC/CSTC launched its religious purge. They called it: “Cleansing the Cults.” And first on the list was the Tabernacle Temple.
“Yes, we received the command.”
“We’ll destroy the Tabernacle and install our pastors.”
Seven pastors — false shepherds — from the SEC/CSTC conspired to divide and take over the Tabernacle. They worked with Pastor Nicholas (Mr. Oh, 오씨), and they moved swiftly.
“This is a direct order from above. All cults must be dismantled.”
Like the priests and elders who plotted Jesus’ death, these seven pastors used secular authority and religious strategy to gain power. Their plan was more than takeover — it was transformation:
- Remove the seven messengers
- Replace them with Presbyterian pastors
- Install a Gentile denomination within the Tabernacle itself
The Strategy — Destroy from Within
They knew that force would backfire — so they used deception:
“Since I’ve become head of the Tabernacle Temple, I will now replace all systems with Presbyterian teachings.”
“Let’s send Mr. Yoo Jr. (Yoo Joon Yeol, 유준열) abroad to study theology. While he’s away, we’ll complete the cleansing and convert the Tabernacle.”
Yoo Joon Yeol, who had been the primary teacher and preacher of the Tabernacle Temple during the late 1960s and early 70s, was removed from the scene by being sent to Calvin Presbyterian Seminary in the United States.
In his absence:
- Elders were reassigned to destroyer supporters
- The seven messengers were pressured to resign
- The entire Tabernacle was absorbed into Presbyterian control
Some protested:
“This is the Tabernacle of God’s covenant!”
“You can’t make us do this!”
But the destroyers answered:
“You need a certificate to preach. Mr. Yoo Jr. is gone. Pastor Nicholas has credentials.”
“I will go to America to get certified.”
“We have no choice.”
The Mark of the Beast — Ordination Day
And then it happened.
“It forced all people… to receive a mark on their right hand or forehead.
No one could buy or sell unless they had the mark — the name or number of the beast… 666.” (Revelation 13:16–18)
September 20, 1981 – 2:00 PM
The pastor appointment service began.
“Teacher! Why are you in such a hurry?”
“It’s an emergency.”
The document read:
“Evangelist of the Tabernacle”
Seventeen members were ordained. Fifty more were sent to seminary. The once-spiritual Tabernacle was now a Calvinist Presbyterian institution. The ordination itself was the mark of the beast — not a tattoo, but a spiritual acceptance of false authority and secular doctrine.
“All members, rise. Do you pledge to follow the Presbyterian creed?”
“Amen.”
Thus, the Tabernacle Temple, built on God’s covenant, was given over to Gentile idols.

Idol Worship — Appointing False Pastors
Ordained not by Scripture but by human authority, the seventeen evangelists of Isaac Church became the new idols within the Tabernacle.
- They were called “pastors” without knowing the Word
- They received human ordination certificates
- They pledged loyalty not to Jesus, but to denominational law
This was the reality of the image of the beast.
Reflection on Solomon, 666, and Modern Apostasy
“King Solomon received 666 talents of gold and made idols.
He led Israel to worship Gentile gods.” (1 Kings 10:14; 11:1–10)
Just like Solomon, Pastor Nicholas (Mr. Oh) replaced truth with idols — false pastors, counterfeit doctrines, and foreign alliances. Those who accepted the ordination of the beast were marked — on hand and forehead — not by ink, but by spiritual submission.
The seven messengers — once chosen — were scattered in seven directions. Fourteen years later, the structure collapsed.
Final Testimonies from the Saints
“The prophecy of Revelation 13 has become reality.”
“We are John.”
“Honey in my mouth, but my stomach turns bitter…” (cf. Revelation 10:9–10)
These were not lines from fiction. They were the words of those who lived it — who testified from within the Tabernacle Temple, who witnessed betrayal, destruction, and the mark of the beast.
“Why are you running?”
“Because I’m hungry.”
– A line evoking both physical abandonment and spiritual hunger
The Role of the Overcomer — Lee Man-hee (이만희)
At the heart of this story was one man who did not accept the mark. He testified, resisted, and stood firm through it all.
He was the one who received the opened scroll. The one who delivered the seven letters. The one who fought the beast and overcame.
“To him who overcomes, I will give authority over the nations…” (Revelation 2:26)
He is New John — Lee Man-hee (이만희) — and this chapter affirms his testimony as a living witness to Revelation 13’s fulfillment.
