Chapter 13 reveals the tragic fall of the chosen people—those once part of the “Tabernacle of Heaven”—who become corrupted and defeated. At the heart of Revelation 13 is the emergence of two beasts: one from the sea and one from the earth. The first represents a false pastor empowered by the dragon (interpreted as Satan), and the second aids in deception by performing signs and creating an image for the first beast. These two beasts wage war against the tabernacle community.
The key event in SCJ’s teaching is the invasion and destruction of the Tabernacle Temple, which occurred during a specific 42-month period (September 1980 – March 14, 1984). During this time, the chosen people failed to remain faithful, received the mark of the beast (666) on their foreheads and right hands (interpreted spiritually, not literally), and aligned themselves with Satan’s doctrines.
The “beast from the sea” symbolizes Mr. Tak, while the “beast from the earth” refers to Mr. Oh, whom SCJ identifies as corrupt religious leaders who infiltrated the Tabernacle Temple with false teachings.
This defeat marks what SCJ calls the First War of Revelation—a spiritual battle in which the chosen are overcome. This event precedes Revelation 12 in fulfillment order, even though it follows it in the biblical text. SCJ stresses that Revelation is not in chronological order, and thus chapter 13 is fulfilled before chapter 12.
The failure of these chosen people leads to their replacement by those who overcome later in the story—this introduces the need for a new tabernacle (Revelation 15) and sets the stage for God’s true kingdom to be established.
Revelation Chapter 13: The Beast, the Mark, and the Fall of the Tabernacle
A Historical Fulfillment of Prophecy and Spiritual Betrayal — Testified by the Overcomer, Lee Man-hee (이만희)
The Beast Rises from the Sea
The prophecy of Revelation 13 began its physical fulfillment not in the distant heavens, but in South Korea, in a church once ablaze with promise—the Tabernacle Temple, where the seven stars had stood as spiritual guides (Revelation 2–3). The year was 1980, a time shadowed by political unrest under the rule of President Chun Doo-hwan, leader of the Fifth Republic. It was during this turbulent era that religious authority was manipulated as a political instrument.
From the shore of the sea—the realm symbolizing the world of Christianity—the dragon, representing Satan, waited. As New John looked on with spiritual eyes, he witnessed a beast rising from the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, crowned and blasphemous. Its appearance was grotesque: like a leopard, with bear-like feet and the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave it power, a throne, and great authority.
According to the parables, the sea represents the world of religion, particularly worldly churches, and the beast symbolizes pastors who resemble animals—those lacking spiritual understanding and the Word of God. This beast was not an outsider—it invaded the Tabernacle Temple, a place once entrusted with the covenant, and it did so hand-in-hand with the dragon. The channel of this invasion was a government-sponsored organization called the Christian Stewardship Training Center (SEC/CSTC), designed to regulate religious movements under the guise of orthodoxy.
The Infiltration Begins – “Cleansing the Cults”
The SEC/CSTC soon launched what they branded as a noble mission: “Cleansing the Cults.” In truth, it was a spiritual purge. The first target? The Tabernacle Temple.
Following orders from state authorities, the destroyers—pastors trained and appointed by the SEC—collaborated with the leadership of the Tabernacle Temple. They declared, “Yes, we received the command.” The directive was blunt: “We’ll destroy the Tabernacle and install our pastors.”
Seven of these pastors, who represented the reality of the seven-headed beast, conspired to infiltrate and divide the church from within. Their puppet of choice was Pastor Nicholas (Mr. Oh, 오씨)—already selected as the new leader of the Tabernacle. Their method mirrored the betrayal of Jesus in the first coming: just as the priests and elders plotted His death, so too did these modern-day destroyers use political authority and religious manipulation to betray a spiritual house.
Their strategy was methodical:
- Remove the seven messengers.
- Replace them with Presbyterian pastors.
- Install a Gentile denomination inside the holy place.
It was not a frontal assault. It was a slow, calculated poisoning from within.
The Strategy – Destroy from Within
Instead of applying open force, they opted for deception.
Standing at the pulpit, Pastor Nicholas made a cold announcement: “Since I’ve become head of the Tabernacle Temple, I will now replace all systems with Presbyterian teachings.” The congregation, bewildered, began to feel the ground shift beneath them.
To clear the path, they orchestrated the removal of Yoo Joon Yeol (Mr. Yoo Jr.), the temple’s key instructor. He was sent abroad to study theology in America. Behind the scenes, they whispered, “While he’s away, we’ll complete the cleansing and convert the Tabernacle.”
In Yoo’s absence, elders were replaced with SEC supporters, and the seven messengers, the seven stars, were pressured until they could no longer stand. The once-spiritual sanctuary was now gripped by Presbyterian doctrine.
When members protested—“This is the Tabernacle of God’s covenant!”—the destroyers retorted, “You need a certificate to preach. Mr. Yoo Jr. is gone. Pastor Nicholas has credentials.”
Even Mr. Yoo Jr., upon briefly returning, was told that compliance was necessary to “avoid trouble.” He conceded: “I will go to America for the pastor certification.” Thus, the betrayal was complete. The event was likened in testimony to the invasion of John the Baptist’s tabernacle at the first coming and to the conspiracy that led to Jesus’ death.
The Mark of the Beast – Ordination Day
Then came the moment Revelation had long foretold:
“It forced all people… to receive a mark on their right hand or forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless they had the mark—the name or number of the beast… 666.” (Revelation 13:16–18)
It was September 20, 1981, at exactly 2:00 PM, when the pastor appointment service began. In a hushed conversation that was recorded later, one participant asked, “Teacher! Why are you in such a hurry?” The answer was stark: “It’s an emergency.”
The appointment letter bore the title “Evangelist of the Tabernacle.” That day, seventeen individuals were ordained, and fifty more were dispatched to seminary. The sacred Tabernacle Temple had been fully converted into a Calvinist Presbyterian institution.
The ordination was not marked by blood or ink—it was a spiritual branding. When the congregation was asked, “Do you pledge to follow the Presbyterian creed?”, they answered, “Amen.”
This was the mark of the beast—not literal, but a spiritual surrender to false teachings, the acceptance of human doctrine over divine revelation.

Idol Worship – Appointing False Pastors
These newly minted pastors of Isaac Church had no deep understanding of the Scriptures. They were ordained by man, not by God. With their new titles and ordination papers, they replaced truth with tradition.
In SCJ theology, they were not just pastors—they were the image of the beast spoken of in Revelation. They were also described in the transcript as the reality of the five tails on Satan’s horses in Revelation 9.
Reflection on Solomon, 666, and Modern Apostasy
In 1 Kings, King Solomon is said to have received 666 talents of gold, eventually turning Israel’s heart toward idols (1 Kings 10:14; 11:1–10). Likewise, Pastor Nicholas replaced divine truth with false teachings, denominational law, and idolatry.
He became known as the “666th beast”, a symbolic name reflecting his betrayal. Those who accepted his ordination were marked—not with ink—but by their spiritual posture: hands and foreheads bowed not to Jesus, but to the beast.
These markings allowed them to preach. But it was a counterfeit commission. The seven messengers, the true lightbearers, were defeated and scattered. After fourteen years, the corrupted structure collapsed.
Final Testimonies from the Saints
“The prophecy of Revelation 13 has become reality.”
“We are John.”
“Honey in my mouth, but my stomach turns bitter…” (Revelation 10:9–10)
These were the laments of those who lived through the betrayal. When one asked a fleeing member, “Why are you running?” they replied, “Because I’m hungry.” The hunger was not for food, but for truth—the bread of heaven that had been taken from them.
The Role of the Overcomer – Lee Man-hee (이만희)
In the chaos, one man remained unmoved. He did not accept the mark. He testified to everything he saw and heard. He received the opened scroll (Revelation 10), and he delivered the seven letters (Revelation 2–3). He stood against the beast and overcame.
He is New John.
He is Lee Man-hee (이만희).
“To the one who overcomes, I will give authority over the nations.” (Revelation 2:26)
Through his eyes, this testimony was sealed. And through his voice, the reality of Revelation 13 was made known.
