Thread for issues with SCJ doctrine and verses to look back for yourself in the Bible
teaching/doctrine
I found the following discrepancies with SCJ doctrine and I’m currently readying myself to leave the study. Would anyone be kind enough to add your own in the comments, to help me and others to fight this with God’s actual scripture.

Shincheonji’s teachings vs the Bible
New Gospel
“What is the eternal gospel, which will be proclaimed to every nation, tribe, language, and people? Just as Jesus’ fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies is proclaimed forever, the way in which the New Testament prophecies (including Revelation) are fulfilled becomes the new song that is proclaimed as the eternal gospel.”
(The Creation of Heaven & Earth – Man hee Lee, p.223)
“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.”
(Galatians 1:6–9; 1 Corinthians 15:1–8; 2 Corinthians 11:3–4; Romans 2:16)
Christianity will end
“Today, the world of Christianity comes to an end and all nations are destroyed because of the maddening wine of adultery. Are these two events different? Revelation 18 reveals the destruction of the Christian world.”
(The Creation of Heaven & Earth – Man hee Lee, p.240)
The Church Jesus established won’t be overcome
“And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
(Matthew 16:18–19)
Lee Man Hee is now the way, the truth and the life
“At the time of the second coming of Christ, Lee becomes the way, the truth and the life.”
(Exposition of thematic summary, published by shincheonji education dept, III, 2, 11)
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
(John 14:6)
Jesus’ blood effective at 2nd coming
“Also it is promised in Revelation 7 that the multitude of white who have been washed through the blood of Jesus will come out—these people are also the ones who ate the blood of Jesus and received the effect of the blood at the time of Revelation’s fulfillment…”
([Lesson 18] The Effect of Jesus’ Blood That Atones Sin, Shincheonhji, 29:59)
“Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!”
(Romans 5:9; Hebrews 10:19; 1 Peter 1:18–19; Luke 22:20)
Hide members’ knowledge of the Bible
“Most believers probably think that it would be good for every one to know the secrets of heaven. They might wonder whether it was really necessary to hide these secrets. These are simply man’s thoughts. God’s thoughts are very different. We tell our secrets only to people we can trust; we do not share them with everyone.”
(The Creation of Heaven & Earth – Man hee Lee, p.286)
“What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs.”
(Matthew 10:27; 2 Corinthians 4:2; Acts 20:27; Matthew 5:15; John 7:4; Matthew 28:19–20)
Salvation only comes through the Promised Pastor
“Today, Revelation is being fulfilled, and Salvation can only be obtained through the promised one who overcomes.”
(The Physical Fulfilment of Revelation, By LMH, p.11)
“Jesus is ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.’”
(Acts 4:11–12)
Hide your faith in Shincheonji from outsiders
“The secrets of heaven must not be revealed to people who belong to Satan; only God’s children should know. If the secrets of God are made known to people that belong to Satan, Satan will use that information to hinder God’s work.”
(The Creation of Heaven & Earth – Man hee Lee, p.286)
“Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.”
(2 Corinthians 4:2; Acts 20:20–21; 2 Corinthians 13:8; Acts 20:27; John 7:26)
Lee Man Hee is The Advocate that comes at Revelation’s fulfilment
“But Chairman Lee who endured this, experienced the events of the entire book of Revelation being fulfilled and received the open word (the open scroll). They were things beyond imagination. He perceived that he was the one sent to testify to the churches about the fulfillment of Revelation, that he was the Messenger, the Advocate (Rv 22:16).”
(scjus.org/promised-pastor/ – IV. The Messenger who Received and Ate the Open Scroll in Revelation 10)
“When the day of Pentecost came…”
“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”
(Acts 2:1–4; John 20:21–22; John 14:26; John 14:16–17)
SCJ: Gathering occurs first, then judgement
“The wheat-like believers will be gathered and harvested into God’s kingdom, but the people like weeds will be thrown into the fiery furnace (Mt 13:30, 40–42). This is the judgment of Spiritual Israel. After the harvest, everything left behind will be judged and will come to an end.”
(The Creation of Heaven & Earth – Man hee Lee, p.153)
Weeds are burnt first, then gathering
“Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.”
(Matthew 13:30)
QuestionsAboutSCJ
↳ Certainly: Wisdom of Hiding:
Shincheonji believes that lying is okay, as long as you don’t add and subtract to God’s word, citing Revelation 22:18–19 and Prov 30:5–6.
Here are some links that go into detail of why this is wrong:

Ironically, SCJ breaks their own definition by taking away from what it means to lie.
SCJ denies the Deity of Christ and makes common arguments that have been made throughout the last 2000 years.
They also get the history of the Trinity wrong, and do not understand the concept of “ontology” or how the 3 persons of the Trinity share the same nature and have different roles and functions, as seen in their “counter” trinity videos.

As for the parables, SCJ often takes verses out of context to show their new “hidden” interpretation—and we do see other groups do similar things:

Issues with SCJ’s interpretation of Jeremiah 31:27 → Mt 13:24–30.
Issues with the “field” being the world, Mt 13:24–30:
• What is the “hidden manna”?

• What is the olive oil?

And many more. I’ll be working on more in the upcoming near future.

Ya, they do the very thing that they preach against—adding to God’s word.
With their “fulfillments” it would be important to know as much as possible of what happened in that 14 years because I know for a fact that a lot of things that happened during those 14 years are not mentioned. This is a problem for people who go through the classes, because they don’t give the students all of the details of the whole story from what happened in that 14 years (1966–1980), only what they want people to think of it. Which leads me to suspect that:
1) Some of the story is fabricated
2) Some of the story is true
3) A lot of the story in the 14 years is purposely left out
I ask the questions:
“If I was there in South Korea during those 14 years, what would I have seen that LMH leaves out of the story? What parts of the story have been fabricated by LMH? Does what happened in those 14 years actually match with the prophecy? Were these 7 or 8 people actually receiving teachings from the Spirit, or did they just say they were and people believed them just like other claimants? If they mentioned all of the details in that 14 years, would people be as susceptible to believing it?”
It’s their “fulfillments” and the “parables” that SCJ seems to pride themselves on the most. An example below shows the actual parable, followed by the parable with their inserted meanings.
(Matthew 25:1–13) – Original Parable
Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. But at midnight there was a cry, “Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.” Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, “Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.” But the wise answered, saying, “Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.” And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, “Lord, lord, open to us.” But he answered, “Truly, I say to you, I do not know you. Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.”
(Matthew 25:1–13) – SCJ’s Version
Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their (Bibles) and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For when the foolish took their (Bibles), they took no (testimony of LMH) with them, but the wise took flasks of (testimony of LMH) with their (Bibles). As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. But at midnight there was a cry, “Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.” Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their (Bibles). And the foolish said to the wise, “Give us some of your (testimony of LMH), for our (Bibles) are going out.” But the wise answered, saying, “Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the (olive trees, witnesses) and buy for yourselves.” And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, “Lord, lord, open to us.” But he answered, “Truly, I say to you, I do not know you. Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.”
Seems pretty strange when you put some of the answers you get from them about the parables into the parables. And since one of the two witnesses of SCJ left, there’s only one olive tree (LMH), which actually doesn’t match the prophecy. It’s definitely not going to look good for their interpretation of this parable when there’s no more olive trees left if LMH passes on.

Mark 9:38–41 NIV
“Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.” “Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us. Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward.”
SCJ teaches that after the appearance of the Most Holy Place in the second coming, only those who follow the true spring, Lee Man Hee or OWV, can gain salvation. Lee Man Hee is the MHP in the second coming, and Jesus was the MHP in the first coming. Yet in the above scripture we see Jesus clearly encourage those that aren’t strictly his disciples. If following the MHP is conditional for salvation, why doesn’t Jesus ask these miracle workers to join him or condemn them?
Luke 11:14–20 NIV
“Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon left, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowd was amazed. But some of them said, ‘By Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he is driving out demons.’ Others tested him by asking for a sign from heaven. Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: ‘Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall. If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebul. Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your followers drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.’”
SCJ reckons that basically every other church except theirs is under the power of Satan. Any miracles they do are the powers of Satan and not God. By serving in your old church, you serve Satan. They like to mention the likes of Mark 13:22 in response. However, in the above verse we see that Satan will not drive out demons and his modus operandi can’t be the same as God’s. SCJ tends to create divisions among Christians, replacing “believers” and “non-believers” with “SCJ” and “Non-SCJ.”
Mark 3:19 NIV
…and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.
John 13:2–3 NIV
The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God;
John 13:26–27 NIV
Jesus answered, “It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish.” Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.”
John 6:70 NIV
Then Jesus replied, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!”
Jesus had one betrayer, Judas Iscariot. The Bible makes that very clear. Yet we do not see John the Baptist betray Jesus or any language that could suggest that. SCJ references Matthew 11 as stating that John the Baptist lost the spirit of God because “he cannot recognise Jesus anymore.” However, the language clearly seems to state John was asking for clarification. Jesus also praises him, saying that John the Baptist is indeed the one who comes in the spirit of Elijah. We know God took Elijah to heaven without tasting death (2 Kings 2:11). It doesn’t make sense for the spirit of Elijah to be in a betrayer. Therefore, if the events of Rebellion, Lawlessness, and Gathering don’t happen as SCJ stated, then the second coming won’t have it either.
IllFaithlessness8553
I think a good thing to note is that John the Baptist was imprisoned when he asked for clarification, and it’s interesting that they say that because John the Baptist’s follower, by following the Sabbath and fasting, became one with the Pharisees—yet SCJ is extremely concerned about following Old Testament commands which, in reality, don’t have any spiritual meaning (such as having to go to church on the 3rd and 7th day, which should technically be Saturday and Tuesday, as Jesus resurrected on the 1st day [Sunday]).
