Glossary of Terms - G
All terms listed herein are defined according to their usage within the context of the SCJ Bible Study.
Gamaliel A respected Pharisee who taught Paul.
Garden (Figurative) Represents a church or the house of God’s chosen people. Eden was Adam’s kingdom, which he had to tend. Bible Verses: Isaiah 5:1-7. Referenced Lesson: 69.
Gardener God, who cultivates and prunes His spiritual “tree” (Jesus and His followers).
Gates (Heavenly) Represents the 12 tribes of New Spiritual Israel. Bible Verses: Revelation 21:10-12. Referenced Lesson: 105.
Gathering (The) The collection of God’s elect from all directions at the time of the harvest.
General Pastors Pastors who testify about the promised pastor who came. Examples include Peter, James, John, and Paul. Bible Verses: Acts 1:8. Referenced Lesson: 73.
Gentiles (Spiritual) Individuals who reject Jesus, regardless of their physical lineage.
Glory (God’s) The ultimate manifestation of God’s presence and power, which will be fully revealed at the end times.
Glossary (Prophetic/Figurative Terms) A compilation of terms and their spiritual meanings used in the Bible study, connecting physical concepts to spiritual realities.
God Spirit, Creator of heaven and earth, Father of all, self-existent (“I AM”). He is the standard of goodness, light, and life. God is the author of the Bible and His Word is infallible. He has a plan for redemption to restore what was lost due to Satan’s corruption. He is the origin of all things, the beginning of everything. He is also referred to as the Rock. God tells the end from the beginning. John 4:24, Genesis 1:1, Ephesians 4:6, Isaiah 37:16, Exodus 3:14-15, Luke 18:18-19, John 1:1-4, Isaiah 14:24, Numbers 23:19, Jeremiah 29:11, 2 Peter 3:9. God’s Food The revealed/opened word of God, or hidden manna, which gives eternal life. Bible Verses: John 6:51-58, Deuteronomy 8:3, Revelation 2:17. Referenced Lesson: 18, 82.
God’s Kingdom Mount Zion, where the 144,000 and great multitude gather, making up the 12 tribes of new spiritual Israel. It is where God, Jesus, and heaven will dwell. God’s goal to have His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. It is a kingdom of overcomers. The Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (TTT) is the reality of God’s kingdom on earth, established March 14, 1984. It is hierarchical and orderly. Bible Verses: Revelation 14:1-3. God’s Logic God’s consistency and unchanging pattern throughout the Bible, particularly in His plan for re-creation. This logic applies to all eras, including the first and second comings.
God’s Mark / God’s Seal Represents God’s word, which is to be engraved in the mind and heart. Similar to a king’s signet ring, it signifies being chosen and approved by God. It provides protection from destruction. Hebrews 8:10-12.
God’s Pattern God’s consistent way of working, involving prophecy and fulfillment, small beginnings, and working through chosen individuals.
God’s Plan God’s predetermined course of action, which stands firm forever and will ultimately prevail. Isaiah 14:24.
God’s Purpose / Objective To restore what was lost due to Adam’s fall, to capture Satan, to establish a new kingdom and new people where the problem of sin is resolved, and to ultimately reign forever. Bible Verses: 1 Timothy 2:3-4, Romans 8:18-25. Referenced Lesson: 81.
God’s Purpose God’s overarching goal to restore what was lost due to sin, culminating in His reign and eternal life for His people.
God’s Will God’s desire for His kingdom to come on Earth as it is in Heaven, and for His people to obey His Word.
Golden Calf Incident An act of idol worship by the Israelites shortly after receiving the Ten Commandments, demonstrating their quick disobedience.
Golden Censer Represents New John, who acts as a container for the prayers of the saints, through whom God’s answers to prayers are fulfilled. Revelation 8:3.
Good Soil Represents those with a noble and good heart who hear God’s Word, retain it, and by persevering through challenges (persecution, worries, pleasures) produce a spiritual crop (fruit). It is one of the four heart conditions in the Parable of the Sower. Luke 8:15, Matthew 13:8, Matthew 13:19-23, Matthew 6:33, James 1:21. Referenced Lesson: 16.
Gospel The good news that God has fulfilled what He promised. It is the Word of God that gives eternal life and is spread by believers. It is the explanation of prophecy and fulfillment. Luke 4:16-21, Acts 13:26-27, 1 Corinthians 10:11. Referenced Lesson: 12.
Gospel (of Fulfillment of Revelation) The new song that reveals how God accomplishes what He has promised through the fulfillment of Revelation. This is an eternal gospel that will be revealed and taught to all nations, tribes, and languages, leaving no excuse for not having heard it.
Gospel of the Kingdom Preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, then the end comes. Matthew 24:14.
Grace Unmerited favor from God, enabling believers to overcome and understand His Word.
Grave (Figurative) A place where people who don’t have the word of life gather, representing an organization of false truth. It is where many spiritually dead are buried. Examples from the First Coming include the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Teachers of the Law. At the Second Coming, Babylon is identified as a spiritual grave. John 5:28-29, Matthew 23:27-28, Luke 11:44, Romans 3:13-14. Referenced Lesson: 33.
Greed A desire for more than what one already has, whether money, relationships, stature, or acclaim. It is a root of all sin, causing idol worship when physical things or desires are prioritized over God. Proverbs 16:8, Colossians 3:5.
Great Multitude in White A large group of people who are gathered on Mount Zion and sealed at the Second Coming, having washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb. They are uncountable and come from “every nation, tribe, people, and language,” symbolizing churches, denominations, congregation members, and doctrines. This group forms part of the newly created 12 tribes of new spiritual Israel. Revelation 7:9-14. Referenced Lesson: 100, 107.
Great Tribulation A period of intense suffering that affects the whole world. Identified as the COVID-19 pandemic, described as a “last hurdle.” It is a time when the spiritual winds blew, causing the sun, moon, and stars (pastors, evangelists, saints of the TT) to fall.
Groom (Figurative) Represents a spirit, specifically Jesus, who gives the “seed” (Word) to the “bride” (flesh/people) to produce spiritual children. In the Second Coming, Jesus is the Groom, and the “bride” makes herself ready for the wedding banquet. Satan also has a “groom” (devil/demons). Hosea 2:19-20, Jeremiah 31:31-32, Galatians 4:19, Matthew 3:16, John 10:30, Matthew 22:1-4, Revelation 19:6-9. Referenced Lesson: 78.
Guardians (Spiritual) Those who initially guide and teach believers, but who may keep them in a state of spiritual immaturity if not surpassed.
Gwacheon A small town in South Korea, identified as a place where Revelation’s fulfillment is geographically localized.
